Best Beginning is a free supportive health service for pregnant individuals who are experiencing any of the following:

  • Living on a low income

  • Language or cultural barriers

  • Social barriers

  • Mental health and/or addiction concerns

  • Feel alone and isolated

  • Need information and support to make healthy choices during pregnancy

  • Or who are under 19 years of age

We offer:

  • Confidential, 1:1 support from nurses, dietitians, social workers and outreach workers

  • Group health education and peer support

  • Children's programming at group (1-6 yrs)

  • Prenatal vitamins

  • Healthy snacks

  • Connection to other pregnant individuals

  • Community and health resources

    Free in-person and online group session are available for Best Beginning clients. Participants will meet other individuals and Best Beginning staff to talk about pregnancy, birth and parenting.

    Sessions take place in-person on Mondays 10:30am – 12:00pm, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1:00 – 2:30pm, and through Zoom every  Thursday from 10:00 – 11:30am
